SAVE THE BEAUTY AND TRANQUILITY OF THE HEMINGFORDS FROM BEING RUINED BY THE BIGGEST WASTE HANDLING SITE IN EAST ANGLIA

THESE ARE THE NIGHTMARISH FACTS:

  • It would be the size of 24 football pitches

  • More than 450 heavy lorry movements in and out of the site every day – with some through the village, threatening road safety and peace and quiet

  • Potentially hazardous waste will be processed on the site – every day

  • Noise and dust will be the norm – as concrete crushing and waste wood processing is handled in the open.

WE ARE THE HEMINGFORDS
ACTION GROUP

We are the residents and business people of the West Cambridge villages that nestle on the banks of the River Great Ouse. It is an area of wonderful peace and tranquillity. Village events like the Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival and the Hemingfords’ Regatta on the river have attracted tens of thousands of visitors over the years providing valuable additional funds for local good causes.

All that is now is being put at risk by the stated plans of  Mick George Limited who have reiterated their intention in their May 2019 submission to Cambridge County Council consultation on the new Waste And Minerals Plan. Their plan – to build Cambridgeshire’s largest Waste Handling facility, on the local golf course.

YOU’VE READ THE WORDS, NOW LOOK AT THE VIDEO REALITIES OF THIS THREAT TO THE HEMINGFORDS

The following two videos show concrete processing and wood chipping and both of these processes will be part of the services on site.
Both cause considerable noise and dust pollution.
